Alfreda Beartrack Algeo, is an enrolled citizen from the Kul Wicasa Lakota Nation in Lower Brule, South Dakota. She is an artist, author, and illustrator whose work is inspired by her Lakota heritage

Brad Wagnon
Brad Wagnon is a lifelong resident of the Gideon Community and an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation
He is the author of three children’s books, “How the World Was Made: A Cherokee Story” “The Land of the Great Turtles” and “The First Fire: A Cherokee Story”. These books are based on traditional Cherokee stories. Brad also has three Syllabary titles, The Cherokee Syllabary: An Illustrated Guide to the Cherokee Language, Baby’s First Cherokee, and Baby’s’ First Cherokee Numbers (arriving February 2026).
Gary Robinson
Gary Robinson is a seasoned writer/author, filmmaker and digital photographic artist of Choctaw and Cherokee Indian descent with experience in many aspects of television production and both fiction and non-fiction writing.
He is the author of eight PathFinders novels, three children’s picture books and Native Trailblazer biography: NATIVE ACTORS and FILMMAKERS.
Kim Sigafus
Kim Sigafus is an award-winning Ojibwa writer.
An author and photographer whose family is from the White Earth Reservation in northwest Minnesota. She is an Illinois Humanities Road Scholar and gives presentations on Native harvest, history, and music. She coauthored two award-winning books: Native Writers: Voices of Power and Native Elders: Sharing Their Wisdom. Sigafus is also the author of six PathFinders novels for reluctant readers: Nowhere to Hide, Autumn’s Dawn, Finding Grace, Whisper to the Sky, Yesterday's Rain, and A Quiet Storm.
