A delightful board book that introduces toddlers and young children to the Cherokee Syllabary. The ten colorful illustrations depict items of Cherokee culture. The number in each picture is shown in Cherokee and English, along with the Cherokee pronunciation of the number.
AUTHOR
Bradley Wagnon is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. He taught Cherokee history, culture, and language at Tahlequah High School for ten years and has worked for Cherokee Nation Community and Cultural Outreach (CCO) as a technical assistance specialist since 2015. He is also the author of three children’s picture books based on traditional Cherokee stories.
ILLUSTRATOR
Beth Anderson, of Water Bird Arts, is a Cherokee Nation citizen and a contemporary visual artist. She holds a degree in Sculpture, is TERO certified with Cherokee Nation, registered with the US Department of Interior’s Indian Arts and Crafts Board, and is a Southeastern Indian Artists Association board member and social media chair.
